Enter That Competition!

A Pink-Book Competition Success Story
How many of you have seen a competition, wanted to enter, but never did because "I'm just not that lucky" or "it's too good to be true"? Well, we're here to tell you to take the chance, enter that competition! The only sure way of not winning is by not entering. Below follows the story of someone who took that chance and won.
In June 2019 we were contacted by Pink-Book Weddings [the only wedding directory you'll ever need ; ) ] with a collaboration proposal. They wanted to know if we would like to sponsor a wedding dress as a prize for a competition. We were immediately on board.
We were very excited to be granted the opportunity to help make a bride's big day even more special, that's why we decided to give the winner a choice between three dresses instead of just one. We know everyone has a different style, and we wanted the bride to still feel like herself and not like she had to settle. These were the three options
Dress 1 is for a bride who has a more vintage style. Someone who is a bit more conservative, but wants the elegant old Hollywood look. Dress 2 is for the glamorous bride. The bride who wants to make sure all eyes are on her. And then last, but certainly not least, dress 3 is for the more bohemian bride. The bride who wants a natural, soft look. (Which one would you have chosen?)
By end of June 2019 the winner was announced...Vishali Naidoo! We were so blessed we got to dress her. She is absolutely beautiful; inside and out. We were very happy to have her as an ambassador for our brand.
It was such a pleasure meeting her and her family! Her little nephew came to every fitting and he is such a cutie. He was very interested in the whole process...we might have a future fashion designer on our hands ;p
Now for the dress she chose. She looked beautiful in all three dresses, but in the end she went with dress number 3. It's the dress that suits the theme of her wedding the best, which was more of a bohemian, outside wedding...and she fell in love with the back of the dress, which showed off her tattoo beautifully.
We did make a few changes to the original design, but we think it came out looking even better than the original. We added beautiful lace straps and an off-the-shoulder detail, giving it that bohemian princess look. Because she is very petit we had to remove quite a few layers from the skirt, but we kept the train. Lastly, we took the bling beading at the empire waist off, to keep the look natural and understated.
As a bonus she decided that she would like a to have a reception dress made. She also wanted something custom made especially for her. We were very happy to comply. We made a beautiful fitted mini cocktail dress; white with silver sequins...adding a little bling for evening. And then it had a long flowy chiffon skirt over.
So in the end she got two dresses for the price of one.
We hope this blog encourages you to enter that competition you were thinking about...good luck ; )
